Strawberry Festival/Memorial Day Travel Recap

Hey babes!

Sorry I’ve been a little behind on blog posts this week. It’s been crazy busy. I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend! I traveled down to VA Beach for some camping and the Strawberry Festival this past Saturday!

For those who don’t know, a very tiny town in VA Beach called Pungo, (with only one stoplight!) holds an annual Strawberry Festival every year.

There was a carnival with tons of fun rides, games, and delicious fried food – I finally got my funnel cake!! Needless to say I was excited about that! There was a parade, petting zoo, lots of shopping, vendors, and tons of people!

The sun was definitely out, and brought on the heat. I’m so glad I decided on a Darling pink, off the shoulder romper. The material was very light and the bell sleeves helped keep me cool throughout the afternoon!!

While we were down in VA Beach, we stayed on a camp ground a few miles from the beach. We were in a cute cabin, which was one of many in all different colors! We were right on the canal and spent lots of time with family and friends! The boys went fishing in the morning and I spent my time reading Into the Water, by Paula Hawkins, and I HIGHLY recommend it, I couldn’t put it down. Also, if you are looking for the perfect summer shoe, I suggest Teva’s, which I wore all weekend. They are very versatile and come in a lot of different colors/styles. I linked them below!

On Sunday, it poured rain, so we decided to hit the movies to see Baywatch! I know it didn’t get great reviews, but I thought it was absolutely hilarious. I wore this super comfy t-shirt dress and chucks below, and accessorized with lots of snacks and a huge blanket (we all know how cold movie theaters can get)!

I hope everyone had a great long weekend and spent time with friends and family 🙂 Happy Thursday, almost to the weekend!

Spin Bike Workout

Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE the spin Bike. I swam for 15 years, so cardio and sprints are some of my favorite workouts. Sometimes it’s nice to watch Netflix or blast some music and completely zone out. The endorphin high afterwards is pretty great too 👌🏼

Workout below:

•I typically start out with five minutes of steady state, low resistance riding for the warmup, then get into the working sets.

•Set 1: 12 minute climb – increase the resistance by 1 level, every minute

•Set 2: 1 minute all out sprint on medium resistance, 1 min steady state on low resistance. Repeat for 10 minutes

•Set 3: 5 min climb – increase the resistance by 2 every minute

•Set 4: 1 min medium resistance all out sprint, 1 min steady state low resistance. Repeat for 5 minutes.

•10 minutes steady state for cool down.

I usually do cardio one to two times a week. It makes me feel great and is a good supplement to lifting and yoga. Adding in the HIIT also helps boost your metabolism all day! I know sometimes I don’t have time to make it to a one hour spin class, or the times clash with my schedule, so this is a great way to still get the benefit on your own time.

Give this workout a try and I promise your legs will be burning!

Daily Devotional {Jesus Calling}

Happy Friday!

I don’t know about you guys, but I am so happy the weekend is here! I am back in my hometown to celebrate my wonderful mama all weekend. Needless to say, we have lots of fun plans ahead!

As I was reading my daily devotional this morning, the subject really stood out to me, and I wanted to put together a quick post to share with you guys. The daily devotional I use is Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young, and the reading from today was all about being present.

This is a somewhat mainstream topic nowadays. With social media, work, hobbies, etc., life has become so fast paced. We are always worried about what other people are doing, what is going on tomorrow or next week. We live in the future, which takes away from what life is supposed to be. When people say to focus on being present, what does that even mean?

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” As Sarah Young puts it, we have to accept the limitations of living one day at a time. Worrying about tomorrow will not change the outcome, only add stress to today. God will help you day to day, all you have to do is focus on the present. Looking at life  moment by moment, and focusing on one day at a time, will bring much needed simplicity and peace. When you give your worries over to God, and rest in knowing he will take care of the future, you get rid of all the complications, worry and clutter that fights for your attention. This allows you to focus on what truly matters.

I know  personally, this is something I definitely need to work on. The days I make an effort to stay present, continuously talking to God and releasing any worries that pop into my head, I have a peace about me that I can not even explain. I challenge you to try it and see the amazing memories you’ll make that are so  much more vivid and meaningful, your relationships improve, productivity increase, and stress level go way down.

I hope this was able to give you some encouragement today, and help bring you some peace that you can take with you throughout the weekend 🙂

XOXO Stay Golden

The True Purpose

Good morning Dolls and happy launch day!

This has been a dream of mine for a couple of years now and I recently decided to dive in head first and really go for it. I invested in a domain name and officially started the journey as a blogger. I have learned a lot about lighting, cameras, photo shoots and angles, etc. (and still learning so bear with me)!

A little about me…. I am an auditor by day, therefore I work a full time job for an accounting firm in the D.C. area. On a day to day basis, I balance a demanding career, fit in my workouts, take care of my babies (yochon puppy and cockatiel), study for the CPA exam, meal prep, as well as prepare content for the blog. I am extremely busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

First, I think I ought to explain how I came up with the name “Three Golden Rules.” As I was thinking about what I wanted to share with the world and what was important to me, I realized that living my life and filling myself with constant happiness is due to three main aspects. First, I have always loved fashion and putting outfits together, and personally on the days where I really love my outfit, I feel so much better and I am actually way more productive. Second, I swam for fifteen years so exercise has always been a huge part of my daily routine and something I can not live without. Moving and exercising, as well as eating healthy foods, helps me feel good and stay energized throughout the day. It’s also a great stress reliever and, best of all, it’s free! Third, Jesus is my rock. I read daily devotionals and one of my goals this spring is to dive more into God’s word and make it a part of my morning routine. It creates a positive mindset and helps me feel at peace going into the day. With all that said, my posts will be geared toward those three categories as I discuss below.

So what’s the purpose of the Three Golden Rules? Fashion, fitness, and faith are three aspects of my life that are part of my everyday routine and very important to me. I will have fashion posts geared around recent trends and the seasons, but only looks I would actually wear.  Hopefully this blog will be a resource to help you guys put your own cute spin on these outfits and rock them in your day to day life.

As this is a lifestyle blog, for the fitness aspect, I will be posting healthy and yummy recipe ideas, mainly geared toward busy people who do not have a lot of time to cook fancy shmancy meals. I also want to be able to be a source of workout ideas, and help give you some inspiration to get moving and feel healthy in your own body.

The faith aspect may be a bit controversial; however to put it plainly, I just do not care. I respect others and whatever beliefs they may have, but I think those of us that have relationships with God, have a responsibility to share the amazing power of his grace with others. We have to shine a light into their lives and be a positive influence. I’ll be sharing verses and some of my daily devotionals with you all and explain how they help me. My goal is to help lift you all up in a way that will allow you to apply God’s wisdom to your own lives.

I want to provide a positive and fun platform where people can come to get outfit inspiration for work and play, workout and recipe ideas to feel good in their own skin, and also a dose of Jesus to help live life to the fullest. Balance is everything, and if I can do it, then so can you!

If you want to see more of my day to day life, daily outfits, decor, etc. on a more regular basis, you can find me on Instagram at annaleelee_11. I can’t wait to see where this journey will take me! Please feel free to comment below or email me if there is anything specific you would like to see!

xoxo thanks for reading! Stay golden friends.
